SYMBOL: THE MAIDEN
ELEMENT: EARTH
RULER: MERCURY
MANTRA: I am ready to see things with a new perspective.

Virgo season arrives just as the long, sweltering days of summer begin to temper and usher in the first hopeful days of autumn’s refreshing transit. Whereas fiery Leo’s energy is heavily charged, matching the high voltage frequencies of midsummer, Virgo’s energy is lighter, calmer, and more subdued, like the maiden goddess symbolized by this sign. While this shift is initially subtle, as the season progresses, most of us will feel ourselves entering a period of groundedness with a focus on practicality and preparation for the future. Virgo energy is what motivates us to fulfill our obligations to ourselves (self-care) and to society.
VIRGO TRAITS
Virgos are born at the end of the sweltering summer months (in the Northern Hemsiphere), signaling a traditional time to reap what you sow as you move towards the harvest season. Virgo’s symbol is the Maiden and a sheaf of wheat, which pays homage to their hardworking nature, earthly esteem, and the fact that they are deep-rooted people. Virgos have a tendency to be purely practical, methodical, and logical in their thinking. This means that they are great problem solvers, goal-setters, and self-starters. Virgo people love the vibe surrounding their season - making lists, starting new classes, organizing their homes (sometimes to the extreme, LOL), and planning for the future. These tasks also tend to expose their perfectionist tendencies, but it’s usually easy to forgive them for this (sometimes annoying) virtue as the pleasure and joy they find in small everyday details is endearing and winsome.
With both feet almost always firmly rooted on the ground, Virgos know that hard work is necessary for success, and as such, they are some of the most hardworking people you’ll ever meet. Their methodical approach to life ensures that nothing is left to chance, and their deep sense of humanity makes them one of the most careful signs of the zodiac. With their ability to analytically map out an organized plan, even up to the most minuscule of details, Virgos often succeed in any endeavor they decide to pursue. They are strong characters and have deeply-engrained boundaries that sometimes make them a bit misunderstood as their innate ability to bring order to chaos can be both a blessing and a challenge. They enjoy their successes, but unlike the gregarious Leo, Virgos are modest to the core, and they don’t like basking in it - Virgos are more interested in doing the right thing and fulfilling their duties with integrity. Virgos also have a tendency to be their own harshest critics because they seek perfection in everything - constantly worried that they missed a detail that will be impossible to fix, making mountains out of molehills is their superpower. This desire for perfection in every aspect of life may sometimes be unintentionally projected towards others. It’s a rare Virgo who takes criticism well or who can admit to being in the wrong.
Once you befriend a Virgo, you’ll be sure to have a friend for life. While Virgos tend to gravitate to the more reserved and shy side, they make for amazing friends as they are pure kindness, fiercely loyal and have a huge heart space which makes for strong connections. Virgos are loved for their empathic and reliable nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. On the flip-side, one of Virgo’s main weaknesses is their inability to ask for help. Although they are often tender, they may unintentionally put up walls when dealing with people outside their inner circle, primarily because their mechanism of denial and fear of failure is so firmly rooted in place. They won’t accept their feelings as valid, true, or even relevant when opposed to reason. This tendency to put up walls when it comes to sharing their personal opinions and feelings can be misconstrued by some people as snobbery when it really is just a matter of not properly articulating how they feel.
Seeking goodness in humankind is the story of Virgo, and disappointment seems to be inevitable from their point of view. Their deep desire to improve and refine everything in their environment translates into striving for an impossible ideal world. One of the core lessons for Virgos is learning to embrace imperfection. When you stop comparing yourself to others you gain a whole new perspective. Focusing on yourself will help you stay aligned with your personal goals and prevent any distractions. You’ll develop a better sense of self which will help you along any journey you embark on. Your most important life lesson is to expand your vision - look at the bigger picture, have a little faith, find the magic in the messiness of being human, and trust in life’s synchronicities.
Our signature Virgo bars, stamped with the constellation, capture luxury vibes with a warm, autumnal palette brushed with gold accents. A lush and sophisticated aromatic tapestry weaves a cozy elegance that is utterly irresistable! A soothing heart of lavender, vanilla, and raw cocoa is cradled by the warm embrace of amber, musk and sandalwood. Smooth and beguiling!

THE MAIDEN/VIRGIN
While our modern minds think of virginity as referring to sexual experience and specifically valuing chastity in women, this common definition has strayed far from the word’s original meaning. In Greek translations the word virgin meant “one unto herself.” The Maiden, aka Virgin, stands for purity of purpose - having clear, sincere intentions and acting with integrity. The Virgin further symbolizes Virgo’s desire for perfection and its connection to the idea of refining and purifying both the self and the environment. She stands in her sovereignty as a self-sustaining person embodying freedom, self-sufficiency, and wholeness. The Maiden reminds us of the power inherent in our own life force energies and beckons us into being whole, complete, and unfettered by the man-made laws and expectations of the patriarchy.
In Wiccan and modern witchcraft traditions, the Triple Goddess archetype refers to three distinct phases of womanhood. The Maiden phase, associated with youth, innocence, purity, and potential for growth, often represented by the Greek goddesses Persephone, Brigid, Artemis, and Hestia. The Mother phase, associated with motherhood and the embodiment of sexuality, fertility, nurturance, and stability, often represented by Demeter. The Crone phase, associated with age, wisdom, experience, and composure, often represented by Hecate (the Queen/Goddess of Witches). The Maiden archetype, highlighted by Virgo, teaches us that there is strength in being naive and unburdened by the toils of life, that everyday is a new beginning, and new perspectives come easily. So Virgos, embrace your zest for life and learning - you were meant for this!

The constellation Virgo is the largest Zodiac constellation and the second largest constellation in our sky. It represents a young woman holding a sheaf of wheat, symbolizing the fruits of the harvest. The constellation itself is rooted in the Greek mythos of Demeter and Persephone. Demeter being the earthly Goddess of the Harvest, and her daughter, Persephone, the innocent maiden Goddess of Spring and Fertility. Of course, Persephone’s story takes a dark twist when she is kidnapped by Hades, the God of the Underworld and subsequently violated. After eating a few pomegranate seeds, Persephone is unwittingly made a prisoner of the Underworld and Demeter, consumed with intense grief, refuses to allow spring to return to the Earth. Zeus eventually intervenes and a deal is struck allowing Persephone to return to her mother for half the year, thereby creating the cycles of the seasons. Thus, Persephone serves her dutiful double role as the harbinger of spring and new life, reappearing at the Spring Equinox, as well as her powerful role as Queen of the Underworld, descending back down to Hades’ realm when the Sun entering Virgo in the northern hemisphere marks the Autumn Equinox.

To locate the Virgo constellation, first locate Spica, Virgo’s brightest star, represented by the sheaf of wheat held in the Maiden’s left hand. Follow the curve in the Big Dipper’s handle to the bright orange star Arcturus, then spike down to Spica.
Our Maiden perfume oil roller is an earthy, yet refreshingly light woodland blend. Bright bergamot and juicy mandarin offer energizing top notes, bolstered by an unexpected floral heart of jasmine, geranium, and a whisper of feminine rose. A woody base accentuated by soft musk rounds out this surprisingly delicate blend.
For Virgo season, we couldn't possibly overlook the iconic maiden goddess, Artemis. Chastity was one of Artemis’ most well-known attributes and as a virgin huntress, she was the protector of young girls and women. As a symbol of feminine strength and wisdom, Artemis encourages women to embrace their autonomy and assertiveness, foster sisterhood, and help empower other women on their path.
In Greek mythology, Artemis emerges as a formidable and revered figure, embodying the untamed spirit of the wilderness. Known as the Huntress, she strides through ancient tales with her silver bow in hand and a quiver of arrows on her back, symbolizing the balance between strength and grace. Artemis is considered a guardian of the environment, and those who respect wildlife are believed to be under her protection.

The forests, in Artemis's realm, were not just landscapes but sacred havens where the delicate balance of nature thrived under her guardianship. Stories depict her as a relentless and skilled archer, fearlessly navigating the dense forests in pursuit of prey. Despite being a skilled hunter, Artemis only hunted for sustenance and preached the importance of balance in the natural world. As the protector of wildlife, she cherished the creatures of the wilderness and maintained a sacred connection with the untamed landscapes.
Our Wild Huntress bars evoke glittering amethyst vibes with a striking purple-hued palette accented with silvery sparkles. Naturally, this wilderness goddess deserves a woodsy aromatic adventure! Black spruce, balsam fir, and woody vetiver embrace Artemis' untamed spirit, while a heart of ripe wild berries and spicy sweet anise offer an enchanting harmony. Intoxicating and invigorating!
EARTH ELEMENT

The four elements - Earth, Air, Fire, Water - are key components associated with each astrological sign. Tuning in to the language of the elements throughout each season of the year can offer powerful guidance for self-growth and awareness, helping one cultivate a deeper connection to the Universe and the Divine. When we honor and accept the interconnectedness of our place within the natural world and its inherent energies and influences, we can be empowered to manifest the world we want to live in.
The elements speak to the core essence of each sign, and each element influences 3 signs. Elemental magick features prominently within each Celestial Sol zodiac product collection. The scent profiles for each product are intrinsically tied to the element for that sign, with a nod to seasonal appropriateness. And every collection features an element specific product. From body sprays to bath salts, we'll have exciting new offerings every month that we hope you will love.
Virgos are full of earthly energy. It's no surprise that this earth sign knows how to keep one foot on the floor even when they seem to be forever striving for greatness.Virgo approaches life with grounded realism. Rather than getting caught up in ideals or fantasies, they prefer to focus on what can be done here and now, emphasizing tangible results. Virgo is associated with service, healing, and care for others - all virtues associated with earthly energies. Virgo’s inherent love for nature also ties back to its role as the caretaker of the zodiac, nurturing and protecting the Earth’s resources.
EARTH ELEMENT RITUAL BATH & BODY OIL - DEMETER
Demeter is the Greek Goddess of Harvest and Fertility. As a central figure in ancient Greek mythology, Demeter was not just a divine symbol of nature’s abundance but a personification of the rhythms of life, death, and renewal. Her most well-known tale is the poignant story of her daughter’s abduction by Hades, God of the Underworld. Demeter’s overwhelming grief over the loss of her daughter (and her refusal to allow spring to return) is the sole reason that Persephone was allowed to return to her side. This myth was not just a tale—it was a deeply spiritual understanding of nature’s balance, and for the ancient Greeks, the story was forever stitched into the fabric of their lives as the explanation for the changing seasons. Her myth is one of loss and return, of death and rebirth, the cyclical nature of our existence, and of the sacred role humans play in stewarding the natural world.

Beyond the myths, Demeter’s essence was—and still is—found in daily life, even in our modern world. Bread-making, harvesting crops - from wheat to grapes - and tending the land sustainably are acts imbued with a quiet reverence for the life-giving forces she embodies. To speak of Demeter is to speak of the earth itself—its abundance, its fragility, and its endless ability to renew.
Our Demeter ritual bath & body oil blend is one you won't soon forget! Lush ripe blackberry, sun-drenched fig, and nectar-rich honey tones, deepened by spicy clove and smoky dark woods. Magnetic and unforgettable!

This special blend of botanicals, potent antioxidants and fruit enzymes gently but effectively cleanses, brightens and smoothes without stripping or drying delicate facial skin. Gentle rose and kaolin clays extract impurities, while vitamin and antioxidant rich fruits - apple, grape, and pomegranate - work synergistically to gently exfoliate, polish and cleanse to reveal luminous, vibrant skin. Our unique vitamin C-rich formula reduces the look of hyper-pigmentation, encourages cell rejuvenation, evens out skin tone, creating a brighter and smoother complexion.
PLANETARY INFLUENCE: MERCURY

Just like Gemini, Virgo’s planetary ruler is Mercury, the Cosmic Messenger that governs communication, language, intellect, and the exchange of information. In Roman mythology, Mercury is associated with the winged messenger god, Mercury (or Hermes in Greek mythology). Both Gemini and Virgo are also mutable, as they are positioned at the end of a season and reflect the transition into the next season. The sun aligns with Virgo during the end of the summer season in the northern hemisphere, just as the Autumn Equinox arrives. Mutable signs are associated with adaptability, flexibility, and changeability.
The second Earth sign after Taurus, Virgo’s mutable modality captures the qualities of versatility and precision, making it one of, if not the most meticulous, signs in the zodiac. Like their ruler, Mercury, Virgos have an innate gift for communication - which is why you’ll find Virgos pursuing careers as writers, reporters, journalists, or professional bloggers. They also have a proclivity for serving and nurturing, making them excellent teachers, doctors, healers, and even, public officials. Virgos are heavy readers, as they love to learn as much as they can about the world around them, just like Geminis.
Like other mutable signs, there are a lot of dualities in a Virgo’s personality: they are great communicators but have trouble expressing their personal feelings, they are naturally helpful but they dislike asking for help, they are logical and practical but they desire perfection in even the smallest of details.
Our Mercury perfume oil roller blend opens with vibrant citrus and juicy fruit notes, blending seamlessly into a playful heart of florals and ozonic notes, while warm vanilla and soft musk provide the perfect grounding touch. Dreamy & enchanting!
TAROT CARD: THE HERMIT

Each Zodiac sign has a corresponding tarot card from the Major Arcana that symbolizes some of its characteristics. The artwork of the traditional Rider-Waite deck is what is used to make comparisons to the Zodiac signs**. Virgo and The Hermit share a deep and insightful connection, both embodying themes of introspection, wisdom, and service.
The Hermit card depicts a solitary man draped in a long drab grey cloak, standing alone atop a barren mountain. The Hermit himself represents solitude, inner reflection, and the search for deeper truths. The hermit is the road-paver, the path-maker, the pioneer. He doesn’t go looking to walk in anyone’s footprints; he forges his own trail up the mountain. At the peak of the mountaintop, his personal struggles have led him to inward reflection and an uphill climb -- rising above any distractions and focusing on his mission. Similarly, Virgo, is the epitome of a person at complete fulfillment alone and to themselves, while always pondering perfection.
Let’s look at some deeper symbolism in this card. In one hand, the Hermit holds up a star-filled lantern that lights his path; in his other hand, he holds a staff. The Hermit’s lantern symbolizes the light of wisdom that guides the seeker through the darkness, much like Virgo’s meticulous and thoughtful nature helps them navigate life’s challenges. He shines his light back down the mountain that others may be guided up and out of the darkness. The staff represents the Hermit’s personal wisdom, strength, and authority, as well as stability and support, and serves as a reminder that we possess the strength and inner guidance to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.
Ultimately, the Hermit card is an invitation to embark on a personal quest for truth, promoting spiritual growth and self-discovery. By embracing the lessons of the Hermit and recognizing our inner strength, Virgos can face life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.
**Please take note that while our discussion points on tarot refer specifically to the artwork of the classical Rider-Waite cards, the artwork on our lotion bottles is unique and doesn't necessarily contain the same artistic elements.

Our Hermit smoothing body silk aromatic blend is a comforting and familiar scent that welcomes you home. It opens with fresh bergamot and builds depth with a heart of warm incense fully grounded in a base of patchouli, sandalwood, and palo santo. Complex and inviting. NOTE: Fans of last year's Sanctity blend will be pleased to see this gorgeous scent back in stock!
AMULETS & ALLIES
If you've visited our retail boutique, you know we loooove our crystals! Some of the larger "statement" crystals in our shop are just there for the high vibes, but we always have an eclectic selection of pocket stones and fun shapes like fairies and mushies to accompany our product collections. This year, we'll be adding custom curated tumbled crystal sets for each Zodiac sign! These sets will be included in each of our gift boxes (see below!). Now, these crystals won't necessarily align with the traditional birthstones you may be familiar with, but they will offer positive and powerful benefits for each sign.
The second Earth sign after Taurus, Virgo’s Mutable modality captures the qualities of versatility and precision, making it one of, if not the most meticulous, signs in the zodiac. Virgos are sure to take a lot of comfort, cleansing, and calm from the influence of grounding healing crystals in their life. In short, they should seek healing stones that are known for clearing out negative energy, promoting better emotional balance in the perfectionist nature of Virgos, along with supporting their practical and logical way of thinking and balancing out some of those self-limiting beliefs and behaviors that can hold you back.
Through meditation practice, crystal grids, affirmation settings, and other simple daily routines, Virgos can call on crystal healing in a way that works with their personality traits. As Virgos love to be busy so much it makes sense for them to take some dedicated time and space to sit quietly and to learn to let go of all consuming thoughts. Meditating with crystals doesn't have to be tricky - you can simply sit quietly with your stones in a peaceful space and let their energy wash over you.

Our custom-curated Virgo crystal collection:
LAPIS LAZULI - Lapis Lazuli, with its deep blue color, is prized for promoting truth and clarity, and inner peace. For Virgos, lapis lazuli can be a powerful ally in intellectual pursuits. It helps Virgos communicate effectively and express their thoughts openly. Known as a seeker of truth, this stone enhances wisdom and encourages honest communication. It is said that it makes it possible to gain a deeper comprehension of people’s character and thus recognize their true self. Since it has the power to illuminate people, it is easier to recognize and admit one's own faults and to free oneself from them. Wear it or keep it on your desk to seek clarity and strengthen your expressive abilities.
The grounding energy of lapis lazuli supports Virgo’s analytical nature, making it easier to unravel problems and make informed decisions. With its historical association with royalty and power, it can also boost confidence. Its calming energy helps to reduce stress and anxiety, allowing Virgos to approach their tasks with a clear and focused mind.
MALACHITE - Used for thousands of years in ancient cultures around the world as an amulet of protection, malachite’s energy permeates the aura releasing stagnant, dense and heavy emotional energies from your field, unwinding the tangled web of thoughts in your mind, and harmonizing the frazzled frequencies of stress, worry, and self-doubt, allowing you to become lighter, and to spark new ideas that will help you grow.
Malachite is the stone for transitions, for preparing for what’s next - whatever that may look like. Malachite is here to help Virgo’s practical preparations grow into massive successes by helping to clear out the mental and emotional obstacles between the here and now and what you’re working towards. Malachite has a very strong, amplifying energy that can regulate anything irregular in your internal cycles and systems, such as an irregular pulse, heartbeat or menstrual cycle, irregular sleep patterns, or blood pressure fluctuations. It can also regulate obsessive thinking, intense emotions, and self-esteem issues, bringing order to chaos and balancing imbalances.
KUNZITE - Kunzite is a delicate, pink gemstone, aka the Stone of Infinite Love, symbolizing love, compassion, and emotional well-being. Kunzite is also aligned with the crown chakra, bringing enlightenment and higher guidance. Virgos tend to follow their mind and suppress their hearts. This crystal links the heart and the mind, helping them experience deep and pure love.
Virgos also frequently experience anxiety when a change occurs. For Virgos who tend to be harsh on themselves and harbour self-blame, this stone is a fantastic aid in boosting sentiments of tolerance and patience as well as inner resolve.
AMAZONITE - Amazonite is a soothing blue-green crystal that resonates with the throat chakra, enhancing communication and self-expression. For Virgos, who are often reserved and can struggle with expressing their emotions, Amazonite provides a gentle nudge to speak their truth and communicate more openly in a way that doesn't alienate or lead to upset. It helps Virgos enhance their essential relationships by ensuring quality communication and connection.
Known for soothing anxious feelings, having a positive energy field, and being a talisman of harmony and balance, Amazonite is like a calm sea for the sometimes turbulent Virgo mind. This soothing stone is excellent for reducing worry and overthinking. Amazonite also encourages self-healing, soft thinking, and a sense of inner peace that can provide Virgos with much-need respite from their forever full 'to do' lists.
MYTHS & MAGICK
MABON: SEPTEMBER 22nd
The Fall/Autumnal Equinox, also known as Mabon, represents the midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the Winter Solstice, when the days and nights are again at equal lengths. After this day, the nights will stretch longer, exceeding the daylight hours. Fall provides such a feast for the senses: the smell of burning leaves, the sweet chill of cooling nights, the spice of Thanksgiving-time sweets, the rich tapestry of color inherent in the trees and harvest vegetables, and above all the transformation of nature’s green into the reds, golds, oranges, siennas, and browns of autumn. It is a time for harvesting, a time for giving thanks for all the blessings that we have, and for honoring the changing seasons. It is time of plenty and of sharing our abundance with others. It is also traditionally a time of balance. In Latin, equinox means “equal night,” and it calls us to remember that even nature spends the majority of its time seeking balance - making this a good time for rest and taking care of ourselves.
Apples are a quintessential harvest fruit, and their cyclical nature mirrors themes of balance, transition, and the turning of the Wheel of the Year. The apple figures significantly in many sacred traditions. It is a symbol for life and immortality, for healing, renewal, regeneration and wholeness. It is associated with beauty, long life and restored youth. For a little extra Mabon Magick, cut an apple lengthwise (instead of crosswise), to reveal the 5 pointed star! The points relate to the 5 natural elements (earth, air, fire, water, and aether/the divine), and the 4 cardinal directions (E/W/N/S) plus Spirit/Self.

Our Mabon Magick bars showcase our #utilitarianart approach to soap design! Soap artistry can be a challenging media at times. Even seasoned soapmakers will agree that intended results are never a certainty, and until the finished soap is cut into bars, you really don't know if your design was successful. Our Mabon Magick bars didn't exactly turn out the way we planned, but with a bit of creativity and ingenuity (and a dose of magick!), we transformed the face of these bars into a vision of autumn glory! Mabon Magick depicts an apple tree ripe with red apples clinging to the branches and a few falling apples and yellow leaves drifting slowly in the autumn breeze. The crisp, invigorating scent of fir and juniper waft along that breeze, while a heart of juicy, ripe apple and zesty mandarin offer an uplifting seasonal freshness. It's one of our most popular scents and the perfect autumn aromatic palette.
The Wheel of the Year is an ancient Celtic calendar based on festivals that celebrate our innate connection with nature, and the ebb and flow of the light and dark as the Earth makes its journey around the sun. The calendar revolves around eight festivals, from Imbolc to Yule – each one signaling a shift in the season, weather, and the natural world around us. The purpose of the calendar is to offer a deeper connection with nature and Mother Earth, as each season offers new gifts to be celebrated. Observing and honoring each of the cyclical seasonal stations (or sabbats) of the Wheel of the Year allows us opportunities for intention and reflection*.
Our seasonal ritual aroma roller blends are the perfect natural perfume accent for every season. We thoughtfully craft every detail, taking into consideration the aromatherapeutic properties of each essential oil included in our blends, and meticulously curate each scent to align with the traditional correspondences of each season. Each roller includes crystals that correspond with the blend and the season. Our roller blends are blessed with Reiki love for your highest and greatest good to assist you in your present journey.
Our Mabon ritual perfume oil blend begins with bright notes of citrus and crisp apple, leading to an aromatic heart of fir and juniper, while base notes of smooth cedarwood round out the finish. A perfect balance of woodsy and sweet and reflective of this harvest season! Featuring red jasper for balance, stability, and grounding and Carnelian for endurance, optimism, courage and creativity.
*As a general and gentle reminder, the recognition and celebration of the sabbats are open to those of all faiths and beliefs. They are days that mark important seasonal checkpoints in the ever-turning wheel of the year – something that impacts every single person’s life, regardless of their spiritual path or where they live on the planet.
HARVEST MOON: September 7, 2025
For centuries, people have followed the cycles of the moon, using its phases to guide planting seasons, celebrations, and religious observances. Full moon names were a significant part of ancient cultures worldwide, reflecting their connection to nature and the rhythms of life. These names held deep meaning and were closely tied to the natural world.
The full moon that happens nearest to the fall equinox (September 22nd this year) always takes on the name "harvest moon". Strange things happen around this full moon! This full moon rises at nearly the same time—around sunset—for several evenings in a row, giving farmers several extra evenings of moonlight and allowing them to finish their harvests before the frosts of fall arrive. Just as farmers reap their crops, the Harvest Moon signifies gathering the fruits of your labor, both literally and metaphorically, representing the culmination of efforts and intentions throughout the year. It's a time to reflect on the lessons learned, the growth achieved, and the abundance in your life. The alignment of the Harvest Moon with the autumn equinox encourages a balance between light and dark, inner and outer worlds. And, too, just as the trees shed their leaves in autumn, this moon marks a time when we should release all that no longer serves us, making room for new blessings.
Our Harvest Moon bars depcit a bright crescent moon dominating a golden-streaked sky over a mountainous landscape shrouded in twilight's shadow. Yes, we know that we're taking some artistic liberties here using a crescent moon rather than a full moon....but hey, that moon is like a bonus soap that you can detach and use on its own!
The intriguing, spicy scent of this bar delivers spellbinding drama - subtle wisps of smoke curl around orange peel, cinnamon, clove and sandalwood for an unforgettable aromatic journey. A topping of glittery red moons perched atop the bars bring an enchanting dose of #moonmagick!
