Our Story
Solstice Herb Farm specializes in handcrafted, small batch artisan skincare products and artistic, plant-based soaps with seasonal themes. Our products are professionally formulated and designed with deep intention, from the quality ingredients we use to the stories and symbolism that we weave into each and every product.
Our story began as a humble, single acre homestead with a plan to grow medicinal and culinary herbs and to provide clean, sustainable, plant-based self-care solutions to our community at affordable prices. Over the past decade, our focus shifted from being market-growers to becoming a local community resource for luxury natural skincare and ritual self-care products.
Our Farm
We are a family-run homestead growing heirloom and open-pollinated vegetables, fruits, and herbs utilizing sustainable, permaculture-based principles of responsible & ethical land stewardship. Our botanicals grow with the natural rhythms of nature, full of vitality and potency. Our farm-to-skincare philosophy — where comfrey, nettle, calendula, chamomile, lavender and countless pollinator-friendly plants grow in our healthy soil - is the essence of plant alchemy, transforming each individual plant into something more potent, powerful and transcendent. Our Store
In late 2021, just as our founder, Stephanie, had completed six grueling months of chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer, the Solstice retail boutique sprang into life. Today, the Solstice boutique is a luxury retail destination in downtown Pittsboro, NC. This charming shop is not only home to our dedicated soap and skincare lab, but is a unique retail shopping experience. There's always something new to explore as fresh and exciting product offerings hit the floor monthly. You’ll find everything from our handcrafted soaps and skincare products to aromatic goods like candles and perfumery. We hope you come visit us soon!

Solstice Herb Farm products are lovingly handmade in our professional lab setting inside our retail shop in downtown Pittsboro, NC using primarily plant-based ingredients. All of our handcrafted products are GMO free, gluten free, cruelty-free, vegan friendly, formulated to EcoCert and COSMOS standards, sustainably produced and packaged in Earth friendly, recyclable packaging. Each item is made to order in our lab with love and intention in small batches to ensure the purity and integrity of all our handcrafted products. Every formula is thoroughly researched, developed, and personally tested. Each ingredient is scrutinized for its therapeutic value and alignment with the overall goals and intention of the product before inclusion. Our preservatives, emulsifiers, extracts and stabilizers are plant-derived and non-toxic.
We support a farm-to-skin philosophy - if we didn't grow it or wildcraft it, we collaborate with our fellow Chatham County farmers and other local artisans to source our botanicals.
We are deeply committed to being environmentally conscious, sustainable and intentional - from what we create to what we consume, so we do our best to minimize our footprint in every aspect of our business.
As plant life varies from season to season, you can expect slight natural variations in our products and certain products will only be available seasonally. Further, our commitment to sustainable growing practices ensure that our potent formulations contain the highest quality, most vibrant plant medicine possible. All of our products are priced economically in order to ensure that everyone in our community has access to clean, natural skincare. Our products are intended to be full spectrum and holistic - providing healing support for your whole person, with an aim to bring about a state of harmony and well-being within body, mind, and soul. Our Founder & Resident Plant Alchemist: Stephanie Fay
A passion for healthy living and a deep connection to Nature has guided Stephanie’s life as a mother, gardener/homesteader, naturalist, nutritionist, herbalist, and aromatherapist. A fascination with the plants in her garden turned into formal studies that continue to this day. Plants provide answers, clarity, healing, magick and inspiration through which she has intuited her life’s work.
Our Ingredients: Powerful Plant Medicine
At Solstice Herb Farm we believe that plant-based products can work just as well - in fact, even better! - than high-end, expensive brands with unrecognizable and unsafe synthetic ingredients. Further, we grow and wildcraft our own herbs that we then use in our formulations to insure the highest-potency, most vibrant plant potions possible. Our herbs, oils, butters, beeswax, and essential oils are all as local, organic, potent, and safe for you and the environment as we can get them. Nearly all of our ingredients are certified organic, which means they have been grown/raised without the use of synthetic chemicals.
