Sagittarius energy lights the fire that is so needed and welcome after treading the deep, dark waters we experienced in Scorpio season. There is a spark here that allows for us to see far beyond what we ever thought possible. As the wheel turns towards the darkest time of the year, the bright, expansive energy of the Sagittarius spirit brings balance and heart with nuggets of truth and wisdom. Bright blessings indeed, Solstice souls!
SAGITTARIUS TRAITS
Sagittarians are made of magnetic energy, a spark of humor (with an occasional side of ruthless sarcasm), and big-hearted vibes. Their enthusiasm has no bounds, and they possess an adventurous spirit accompanied by intense curiosity and bold spontaneity. Their enthusiasm for life can be contagious and people just seem to have a better time when a Sagittarius is around. Freedom seekers by nature, their wanderlust takes them from one end of the world to another, exploring different cultures and philosophies. They’re not afraid to aim high and they’re optimistic enough to believe that they can make all of their dreams come true if they just chase them hard enough. Some may call them reckless but it’s often this willingness to go ‘all in’ when it counts the most that helps them to achieve big things in life.
One of the defining characteristics of Sagittarians is their unwavering candor and directness. They have a tendency to speak their minds without a filter, often blurting out their thoughts with a bracing lack of pretense. Despite their often brutal honesty, they tend to be more shy in revealing their emotional side - unless you make them big mad or attempt to infringe upon their personal freedom in ANY way and then the whole world is sure to hear about it, LOL!
Sagittarians are also crazy intuitive and are often able to read your character and intentions like a book - if you’re lying, they can almost always tell (spoiler alert: don’t play them for a fool!). Crystal clear about their own intentions and honest by moral imperative, it is important for Sagittarians to learn how to express their opinions in a tolerant and socially acceptable way.
Guided by the Centaur and the story of Chiron the Wounded Healer, Sagittarius is the sign of teaching and healing, always ready to accommodate a friend and help others heal. Pain is often hidden behind their smile, and these generous benefactors would gladly give everything they have to others so that they may live free of their struggles. Sagittarians love their family and friends, and like their ruler, Jupiter, they feel duty bound to be protectors of the people they love.
However, because of their mutable sign quality, Sagittarians can sometimes be misconstrued as being unreliable, having a tendency to commit to too many things at the same time. Blessed by many incredible things, there always seems to be something missing to make their life wholly complete. While it might seem from a distance that Sagittarians have their lives figured out, with the straight-shooting Archer as their guide, it’s important to remember that an Archer can only aim their arrow at one thing at a time. While all that enthusiastic energy is amazing, it can also lead to burnout if this fire sign doesn't find its balance.

THE ARCHER
Sagittarius is symbolized by the Archer, wielding a bow and arrow, and often linked to the pursuit of freedom, justice and the quest for truth. This symbol also aptly represents the adventurous spirit of Sagittarius, constantly seeking new horizons, philosophies, and knowledge. The Archer is a Centaur – half logical human and half wild horse – and embodies the integration of our animalistic and higher selves. Just as the arrow flies and the horse gallops, Sagittarius embodies the journey of spiritual growth.
The stories woven into the stars of Sagittarius are as captivating as the constellation itself. Rooted deeply in ancient mythology, these narratives offer insight into the origins and symbolic significance of The Archer in the night sky. In Greek mythology, Sagittarius represents a centaur, a half human, half horse creature with the torso of a man and the body and four legs of a horse. (Although often wrongly identified as the centaur Chiron, which is represented by its own constellation, Centaurus, the Chiron story still resonates with the Sagittarius spirit; click the hyperlink in the previous section if you are interested in that story). The centaur is depicted as aiming an arrow toward the heart of the neighbouring constellation Scorpio; it is said that Sagittarius is protecting Orion who is about to be attacked by Scorpius (although if you read our Scorpio blog post, you may recall that Orion isn’t the honorable one in this story!).
Sagittarius points to the heart of the Milky Way galaxy, guiding observers to the cosmic riches of our galaxy’s center. Sagittarius is fairly easy to spot, because its brightest stars form an asterism in the distinctive shape of a teapot (much easier to visualize than the archer!). The front of the teapot is the bow he pulls back, the spout is the tip of his arrow he aims westward at Scorpius. If you are able to observe the Milky Way beyond it, it appears as steam coming out of the spout. It was believed in ancient times that the steam rising from the teapot was what created the Milky Way streak through the sky. You can find Sagittarius low on the southern horizon during summer. This constellation resides on one side of the Milky Way while Scorpius resides on the other.
The spirit of the Archer reflects the Sagittarian's innate sense of purpose and their desire to use their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world around them. By aiming their metaphorical arrows towards the ideals of justice, freedom, and personal growth, Sagittarians strive to be agents of change and catalysts for transformation.

The wide swath of gauzy glow stretching across our night sky is the Milky Way, the galaxy to which our solar system belongs. For ancient cultures, this band of stars vividly cleaved the night sky. It has been known by many names since the dawn of time and has played a role in countless myths and legends.
Many cultures saw in the Milky Way a road traveled by either the sun or the gods. Some ancient stories consider the Milky Way as more than just a road, but a conduit between this world and the next. The name "Heavenly Seam" interprets the Milky Way as a cosmic bridge or seam that joins pieces of fabric, one that links all realms of existence - the earthly realm, the heavens, and the afterlife.
Our spiral-shaped galaxy is a hundred thousand light years across and contains over 100 billion stars. The Milky Way is mostly visible when light pollution is at a minimum. Modern astronomers have placed the Milky Way in a vast network of neighbouring galaxies or "supercluster" containing 100,000 large galaxies. Named Laniakea in Hawaiian, meaning "immeasurable heaven", an apropos name to describe the vastness of the Universe in which we exist....one tiny planet in one single galaxy amongst billions of stars and planets in an incredible network of unknown galaxies.
Our Heavenly Seam bars capture the night sky as it may have appeared to our ancestors. Looking across a deep valley hugged by ragged cliffs, wisps of white curls stretch across a green and blue-hued night sky. If you look at these bars in a dark room, you just might see the Milky Way glowing* like it did for the ancients!

Fire is passionate, dynamic, and temperamental. Those blazes can spread feelings of warmth and compassion, or they can do great destruction if we get too heated! While fire burns out quickly without fuel to keep it going, it can also regenerate its power from the ashes. A single spark can set off a series of endless blazes. As a result, fire signs need to be nurtured and managed carefully.
Sagittarius, as a fire sign, radiates warmth and exuberance. When in balance, the fire element can be Sagittarius's superpower. However, Sagittarians need to remember that while they burn brightly, downtime is important to create balance. PLANETARY RULER: JUPITER
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the ruler of gods in Roman mythology (Zeus’ Roman counterpart), and the largest planet of our solar system, the mighty gas giant. While some signs are associated with two planetary rulers (one modern and one traditional), Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter in both ancient and modern-day astrology practices.
In traditional astrology, Jupiter was known as the “greater benefic” planet — a nickname that alludes to the bounty of benefits that it tends to deliver wherever it travels in the zodiac. Jupiter is the planet of growth and expansion, of both the mental and spiritual sort. Its knowledge-seeking energy is associated with subjects like philosophy, ethics, and our belief systems — so it encourages us to think big, challenge our personal paradigms, and explore our spirituality. It’s easy to see Jupiter’s influence when looking at Sagittarius’ zodiac traits. Sagittarians love to be on the move and see the world, and they have an insatiable appetite when it comes to learning new things. Jupiter’s auspicious energy is also associated with abundance and good fortune, hence why it’s considered the luckiest planet in the zodiac.
However, like the Ruler of the Gods, Jupiter(Zeus), who carried great authority over others, both gods and humans alike, Sagittarians can be very authoritative, as well. While Jupiter’s positive energy can certainly bring good luck and the ability to level up, it also has a tendency to exaggerate things, which can cause Sagittarians to dramatize events or even overindulge. It's in Jupiter's nature to expand everything it touches; which means a Sagittarian can become Jupiter's spoiled child. They can go overboard or become complacent and self-satisfied as the result of the advantages brought by their ruler. However, when a Sagittarius understands the gifts and liabilities associated with being Jupiter's child, they can modify their behavior and use Jupiter's magnanimity to their best advantage.

TAROT CARD: TEMPERANCE
Each Zodiac sign has a corresponding tarot card from the Major Arcana that symbolizes some of its characteristics. Sagittarius is ruled by The Temperance card of the Major Arcana and is packed with symbols connected to the Sagittarius sign.

In the Temperance card, the iconic figure of an Angel is the most prominent clue to its meaning. And, similar to adventurous Sagittarius, the angel’s feet are also symbolic of the eternal pilgrimage or spiritual journey. The definition of temperance itself, restraint and moderation, is illustrated here by the angel slowly pouring the water from one golden cup into another -- a culinary process called "tempering" (a slow process of integration that leads to the ideal of harmony), symbolizing the delicate balance between intellect and emotion. This imagery highlights the significance of finding harmony amidst stability and change – qualities that resonate deeply with Sagittarius. Sagittarius is always walking this line - weighing the choice between embracing the next adventure or maintaining stability. The lesson is not to avoid the extremes, but to use them as ingredients for "alchemy," molding them into a better solution or outcome.
And lastly, the iris flowers are indicative of the Goddess Iris (the Rainbow Goddess as you may recall from our Aquarius collection!) who provides the link between God and humanity. Like Sagittarius, she travels from one end of the world to another -- building upon something that is bigger and brighter than herself. The rainbow, too, is a symbol of the balance between fire(sunlight) and water(rain), creating something both beautiful and desirable.
Ultimately, Temperance is all about striving for balance--which can often mean taking the middle road. To a Sagittarius, the middle road is almost never enticing. As a sign that values freedom, Sagittarius can struggle with long-term commitments or routines, inflated confidence, and outspokenness. The lesson here is to temper the Sagittarian’s strong will and overachieving desire to do it all - with humility, patience, discipline, and the understanding that some things require time and a more gentle, balanced approach.

We launched our Celestial Sol series of Zodiac-inspired products last December with the Capricorn collection. We truly had no idea if y'all would embrace this thematic series nor did we know whether this path would push us too far out of our comfort zone (because truly I had only a bare minimum of general Zodiac knowledge when we started planning this series!). We know that some of you will be quite sad when the wheel of the year turns and we embark upon a new thematic series for 2026 (more deets to come on that soon....but we promise you won't be disappointed!). Through the 2025 holiday season, we intend to keep Zodiac box sets and all accompanying product options fully stocked. Of course, certain products, particularly the signature Zodiac soaps, once gone, cannot easily be replaced. So we highly recommend that you plan ahead and not wait too long if you want to gift any Zodiac boxes as Christmas gifts. There are a handful of signs with very limited inventory already! If all goes as we have planned, there just might be a few boxes of each collection remaining as the new year dawns (we're talking very limited inventory!). We really can't make any promises, though!
