"All children, except one, grow up."

-J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

Peter Pan has captured our collective imaginations for over 100 years, leaving us all with hopes of being whisked away to Neverland and pockets full of pixie dust.

Peter is a half-boy ("betwixt and between" - not quite human, but not quite bird), with a wild temperament, who lives with the fairies on an untamed island unencumbered by civilization and authority, and plays panpipes.

The author, J.M. Barrie, deftly weaves mythology into the story, relating Peter to the Greek God of the Wild, Pan, the half-goat, half-man satyr who lords over the natural world. Some scholars even believe that Peter is the halfling lovechild of both Pan and Persephone, Goddess of Spring. Peter's physical control over the island is evident and his supernaturally powerful gift of persuasion entices children to his home, enraptures the Lost Boys to do his bidding, and allows him to befriend both fairies and mermaids. Peter is a bewitching being with the nature of a siren and a frightfully dark shadow side....he is not all childhood innocence and glee.

We've attempted to capture Pan's unbridled personality in his magical home of Neverland with a vibrant color palette and a scent that evokes the primeval natural beauty of a wild island! Top notes of damp earth, airy ozone, and aquatic marine notes with a heart of green florals, all rooted in a base of moss and cedarwood. It's lush and lingering and we're here for it!
