The Wheel of the Year is an ancient Celtic calendar based on festivals that celebrate our innate connection with nature, and the ebb and flow of the light and dark as the Earth makes its journey around the sun. The calendar revolves around eight festivals, from Imbolc to Yule – each one signaling a shift in the season, weather, and the natural world around us. The purpose of the calendar is to offer a deeper connection with nature and Mother Earth, as each season offers new gifts to be celebrated. Observing and honoring each of the cyclical seasonal stations (or sabbats) of the Wheel of the Year allows us opportunities for intention and reflection.

Ostara coincides with the Vernal Equinox occuring on March 20th, 2025, where night and day are at equal length and the official first day of spring. The vernal/spring equinox is a magical season to celebrate renewal and rebirth. We are finally emerging from the long slumber of winter into a season bursting with new growth, abundance and fertility. The energy is expansive and exuberant! You may find that you have an extra hop in your step as the days grow longer and the warming sun gives you a burst of energy and a lifting of your spirits! This time of new fertility brings with it renewed passions, artistic expression, and creativity. Go with the flow, experiment and perhaps discover a new endeavor!

Ostara takes its name after the Germanic goddess of spring and dawn, Eostre/Ostara, who was traditionally honored with festivals to celebrate fertility, renewal and re-birth. Over the centuries, the symbols of Ostara have become traditional Easter customs and symbols, such as the Easter Bunny who brings eggs to children on Easter morning. The egg (and all seeds) contains all potential, full of promise and new life. It symbolises the rebirth of nature, the fertility of the Earth and all creation.

Our Ostara bar radiates uplifting spring vibes from its tranquil green and pink palette to the splendid butterfly swirl design. Lose yourself in the dreamy allure of its welcoming aromatic palette. Bright bergamot and neroli blossom set the stage with a citrusy floral sparkle, while the heart unfolds with soft heliotrope and creamy santal. The journey concludes with a rich base of oud wood, warm musk, and golden amber.
