Dearest Mary—An order has just arrived for our ship to sail immediately for the East Indies, where it is probable we shall remain for three years; but notwithstanding this, my dear girl, be assured that neither time nor absence will make any alteration in the affectionate heart of your devoted sailor. Keep up your spirits, then, my dear, and fear not on account of your lover, for
“There’s a sweet little cherub that sits up aloft,
To watch for the life of poor Jack.”
And be assured that whatever may be our course, you will be the pole towards which the needle of my affections will constantly turn. I have got my half of the sixpence which we broke between us, and will preserve it as a sacred deposit; and should I fall among the glorious dead, it shall accompany me to my watery grave. Remember me, dearest Mary, and I trust that Fortune with her smile will soon enable me to return with wealth and honour, to lay them at your feet. May fair winds and a prosperous voyage attend you through life; and, in expectation of an early answer, I am, dearest, lovely Mary, Your affectionate lover.
-Love letter excerpt from The Parlour Letter-writer And Secretary’s Assistant, published in 1845, a compilation of Victorian era love letters
Need the perfect Valentine? Send a love letter to your sweetheart with this soap and a bouquet of red roses, baby's breath, yellow daffodils, and ferns for greenery! In the Victorian coded language of flowers you'll be confessing your undying love.
Our Love Letter bars are an artistic ode to the sacred art of letter writing to one's beloved. A cream colored base resembling antique parchment paper is topped with a pink envelope "flap" and a bright pink heart, as though one may have applied a heart shaped wax seal to secure the contents. A single dainty rosebud highligted in gold sparkles atop each bar says the quiet part out loud - "I love you".
These bars are scented in our latest aromatic obsession - delicate rose petals swimming in decadent notes of creamy coconut milk, with hints of lilac and lily of the valley rounding out the sophisticated floral bouquet. Velvety tonka bean completes this blend with a sumptuous and comforting finish. This love letter is full of romantic drama!
We've added real coconut milk to the base for an extra creamy bubblicious treat that will feel like silk on your skin.

Love Letter Artisan Botanical Soap
Handmade soaps need to breathe! We recommend storing your soap on a slatted or free draining soap dish so that it can air dry in between uses.
- Remove botanical toppings prior to use.
- Don't allow your soap to sit in a puddle of water.
- Use a wash cloth, loofah or soap saver bag to extend the life of your soap bar.
- Use your soap bar within one year of purchase. I know they're pretty to look at, but they're intended to be used so enjoy them! :)
- Store unused soap out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature fluctuations and high humidity conditions.
- You may experience colored lather with dark or brightly colored bars; however, no permanent staining should occur.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs
- Soaps are for external use only & are not edible
