Limited edition! Seasonal!
Imbolc (aka Candlemas) celebrates the midway point between the Winter Solstice and the Vernal Equinox (aka Ostara) and the approaching spring. Occuring annually on Feb 1st-2nd, this Celtic fire festival celebrates the kindling of new life. The word ‘Imbolc’ itself is derived from Old Irish for "ewe's milk," directly linking the festival to this vital seasonal milk. The literal translation means "in the belly /in the womb" which is a direct reference to a new stirring of life and possibility and refers to pregnant ewes and the lambing season. Imbolc brings the first whispers of Spring as our days slowly become a bit longer, the Earth starts to thaw, and the possibility of new life feels ever present. Imbolc brings forward the promise of growth while we still have one foot in Winter and are likely feeling run down and ready to move on from the cold and dark. It is in these moments when it seems like Winter will never end and our gardens will not come back that Imbolc arrives, looks us in the eye, and asks us to trust the rhythm of the Earth. Our hearts crack open and our eyes well up because we can feel so deeply that we are on the precipice of a monumental shift.
To bring this perfume to life, we leaned into its literal translation. Milky lactonic scents are having a huge moment so our Imbolc Ambrosia perfume captures the essence of milk's creamy comfort. This sumptuous blend opens with warm cardamom (a personal fave...ohh so good!) and elegant jasmine, riveting the wearer with their heady warmth before ushering you into the cocooning tranquillity and ancient familiarity of milk's velvety creaminess. A finish of sheer vanilla, soft amber and white musk lend a timeless elegance with their seductive olfactory magick. Comfortable yet complex. Slightly sweet yet not quite gourmand. Intimate and nostalgic.
Imbolc and its rituals are closely associated with the Goddess Brigid, a triple goddess of healing, fertility, childbirth, poetry, inspiration, and blacksmithing. Her triple goddess aspect is different than the traditional Maiden/Mother/Crone, and instead reflect her three distinct roles as the Lady of the Healing Waters, Goddess of the Sacred Flame, and Goddess of the Fertile Earth. Associated with fertility and fire, known as the keeper of the sacred flame, and celebrated as the guardian of home and hearth, celebrating and honoring Brigid can include bonfires, candle services, and other fire rituals around the hearth or outside the home. Crosses made of traditional reeds are commonly crafted on Imbolc. Anoint yourself with Imbolc Ambrosia to honor Brigid in your seasonal rituals. Anoint your altar tools, pillar candles, etc as you invoke Brigid's soft presence.

Imbolc Ambrosia Ritual Perfume Oil Roller
Perfume oil rollers do not contain any alcohol and thus won't have the staying power of a true parfum. However, here's a few tips to get the most out of each application:
- Apply your perfume oil to moisturized skin. Aroma molecules evaporate far more slowly on well hydrated skin. Dry skin will quickly dissipate fragrance as well as those lighter and brighter top notes and floral heart notes.
- Apply after bathing/showering when possible, when pores are open for maximum absorption.
- Try layering your scented products for a longer aromatic experience. Select scents that complement and/or have similar note profiles. A scented lotion or body oil will moisturize AND maximize scent retention.
- Apply to pulse points but do NOT rub in (rubbing will make the top notes burn off more quickly!). If you apply more than you wanted, simply tap your wrists together or dab on another pulse point. Warmth exuded from these points will project scent the longest. Best pulse points: wrists, neck/behind ears, collar bones, heart space, inner elbows (a great spot for long-lasting diffusion!), and behind knees.
- However, there are certain spots that experts DO NOT recommend applying any perfume to, inlcuding eyes, face, privates, scalp, and any irritated, damaged skin (including cuts, scrapes, etc).
- Remember that citrus and floral notes are the most fleeting so a floral-forward scent will dissipate much more quickly than a woodsy or gourmand blend. Thus you may have to reapply these lighter blends a few times throughout the day.
- Also remember that you will get used to your signature scent and won't notice it as much as those surrounding you. So don't be too quick to overapply!
- Keep in mind that if you've been to the gym and worked up a sweat, you'll need to reapply post-shower.
- Store your perfume roller in a cool, dark place for longest shelf life. Do not allow your roller bottle to be exposed to direct sun, excessive heat, high humidity (ahem, like the bathroom), or anywhere that it will be exposed to drastic temperature changes.
