Holly and ivy are quintessential holiday bouquet and cut plants. Moreover, they carry deeply symbolic roots from the pre-Christian times when these plants symbolized man and woman, and their greenness represented life persisting through winter. In the Victorian era, their symbolism took on Christian angles - the sharp prickles on holly leaves are said to represent Christ’s crown of thorns, and the red berries, Christ’s blood. And, of course, the classic children's book of the same name brings fond memories for many, about an orphan named Ivy, a doll named Holly, and a childless couple, all wishing for a family for Christmas.
Holly & Ivy features a classic Christmas palette of red, white, and green, gilded with gold, in a pattern called "pointy layers", which seemed the perfect design for the sharp pointy holly. The top is adorned with holly bunches (soap, of course) and a touch of gold sparkle. Our scent blend is a vibrant marriage of tart red currant and cranberry bolstered by spicy cinnamon and peppercorn. A warming base trio of evergreens accented by smooth, creamy vanilla adds complexity, depth, and nuance. Sweet, tart, and earthy all at once! Joyous!

Handmade soaps need to breathe! We recommend storing your soap on a slatted or free draining soap dish so that it can air dry in between uses.
- Remove botanical toppings prior to use.
- Don't allow your soap to sit in a puddle of water.
- Use a wash cloth, loofah or soap saver bag to extend the life of your soap bar.
- Use your soap bar within one year of purchase. I know they're pretty to look at, but they're intended to be used so enjoy them! :)
- Store unused soap out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature fluctuations and high humidity conditions.
- You may experience colored lather with dark or brightly colored bars; however, no permanent staining should occur.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs
- Soaps are for external use only & are not edible
