Our Dirty Detox facial bar is thoughtfully handcrafted to power through makeup, dirt, and oily build-up so you can sport a fresh, clean face every day.
What makes this salt bar so special?? Sea salt is loaded with minerals - magnesium, potassium, calcium and even more depending on where it is harvested...minerals our bodies need for optimum health. Salt is known to be drawing, purifying and amazing for fighting acne. This natural sea salt bar extracts impurities, balances your skin's natural pH, and clarifies and tones your complexion. We've paired all the benefits of salt with deeply cleansing activated charcoal and gentle but purifying kaolin clay for superior cleansing action. The base of this bar contains oils well known for their anti-inflammatory properties and super hydrating, anti-bacterial & anti-fungal tucuma and murumuru butters. An acne-busting synergy of essential oils, including antibacterial powerhouse tea tree oil, calming lavender, purifying lemon, lemongrass and peppermint add extra cleansing power.
But wait...isn't salt drying?? You'd think so, but actually
salt is hydrophilic, meaning it attracts moisture from the air. Combine that with glycerin, which is naturally present in handmade soap, and just like salt, has hydrophilic properties. Glycerin is also a humectant - which allows the skin to retain moisture. Hydrophilic and humectant = a gentle soap that leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and not at all dry.
Isn't all that salt scratchy? Again, surprisingly, no! Our salt bar is more like a smooth, polished rock. And the salt actually makes for a rock-hard and long-lasting soap! We've pre-packaged this bar in a natural sisal soap saver bag so you get all the benefits of the soap plus some gentle, natural exfoliation from the bag, too. A natural massage with a soft washcloth or our soap saver bag can help remove dead skin cells and invigorate skin.
Unlike most commercial face cleansers, our handcrafted artisan botanical soaps are incredibly gentle and completely natural. This bar will not strip your skin: it gently washes away dirt and impurities.
Use as a facial cleanser or bring into the shower to help get rid of breakouts on your back and body -- you may notice a difference within the first few days of using!
Approx 3oz bar

Handmade soaps need to breathe! We recommend storing your soap on a slatted or free draining soap dish so that it can air dry in between uses.
- Don't allow your soap to sit in a puddle of water.
- Use a wash cloth, loofah or soap saver bag to extend the life of your soap bar. Ensure these are kept clean by tossing them in the wash regularly.
- Use your soap bar within one year of purchase. I know they're pretty to look at, but they're intended to be used so enjoy them! :)
- Store unused soap out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature fluctuations and high humidity conditions.
- Use warm, not hot, water to wash your face. Hot water can strip away skin lipids and lead to dryness/irritation.
- Use cool water as a final rinse to close your pores.
- Exfoliating or scrubbing too hard may cause the skin to become red and irritated.
- Use a clean washcloth, especially if you are prone to acne. Washcloths (and makeup tools and pillowcases!) can re-deposit dirt and grime right back onto your skin.
- Don't pick at your skin or squeeze those blackheads! Picking and squeezing increases inflammation which can halt the skin healing process and lead to scarring.
- Use clean make-up brushes to prevent dirt and oil build up.
- Wash your pillow cases regularly; at least weekly (switch them even more frequently if you can!)
- Disinfect your phone! Your phone may be carrying 10x more bacteria than a toilet seat...yuck!
- Avoid products made with synthetic ingredients that can irritate facial skin.
- Avoid products that contain alcohol which can cause skin to become tight and dry.
- Apply a moisturizer immediately after washing your face while skin is still damp. Acne-prone skin is often also dry skin, which over stimulates the sebum to produce more oil to compensate for the dryness.
- Limit sun exposure
- Drink lots of pure, filtered water and eat plenty of fruits and veg - antioxidants are essential!
- Work out regularly to keep your blood and lymph moving and help transport toxins out of your body faster!
- Take probiotics - research suggest taking probiotics can improve inflammatory skin conditions, including acne & rosacea.
