Dionysus was the Geek God of wine, revelry, ecstasy, indulgence, folly, and all things merrymaking (Roman equivalent = Bacchus). Dionysus was often portrayed as an effeminate, long-haired youth accompanied by satyrs - lustful, drunken half-man, half-horse woodland spirits - and maenads - barefoot, feral, and frenzied female followers. Dionysus had the power to induce states of divine madness, and his devotees left behind normal lives to engage in ecstatic dances and frenzied rites of primal chaos. His followers epitomized the primal aspects of human nature and the thin line between civilization and wildness, symbolizing themes of freedom and rebellion, as well as the celebration of life itself.
This vibrant, controversial God embodied duality in multiple respects. As the son of Zeus and a mortal woman, he stradled the line of divinity and morality. Dionysus also (somewhat recklessly) embodied the dual nature of wine consumption - generally fun and joyous, but sometimes brutal and blind with rage. Roman Bacchanalia festivals held in worship of Dionysus/Bacchus were considered the highest degree of debauchery and immorality. The ancient Greeks' affinity for the performing arts was largely influenced by Dionysus' worship.
Our Dionysus bars showcase the revelry and opulence that make this god famous. We made this one with actual wine for extra bubbly delight! Rich shades of purples and persimmon accents evoke an atmosphere of a vineyard on the cusp of autumn, with dark plum-hued grape clusters on the vine framed by golden leaves. Our aromatic palette is superbly appropros! Jammy, sweet fruit top notes intertwine with a golden heart of sticky honey and warm cinnamon. A boozy base of bourbon, smoked oak, and caramel add a warm and sophisticated finish to this decidedly ambrosial blend. Let the nectar of the gods elevate your bathing ritual!

Dionysus Artisan Botanical Soap
Handmade soaps need to breathe! We recommend storing your soap on a slatted or free draining soap dish so that it can air dry in between uses.
- Remove botanical toppings prior to use.
- Don't allow your soap to sit in a puddle of water.
- Use a wash cloth, loofah or soap saver bag to extend the life of your soap bar.
- Use your soap bar within one year of purchase. I know they're pretty to look at, but they're intended to be used so enjoy them! :)
- Store unused soap out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature fluctuations and high humidity conditions.
- You may experience colored lather with dark or brightly colored bars; however, no permanent staining should occur.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs
- Soaps are for external use only & are not edible
