Cygnus, aka the Swan constellation, aka the Nothern Cross, is one of the most recognizable star patterns in the night sky. Many cultures believed that Cygnus was a gateway to the afterlife and that the souls of the departed would pass through it on their journey to the other side. In ancient Greece, the swan was associated with Aphrodite and was seen as a symbol of love and beauty. In another Greek legend, Zeus disguises himself as a swan to seduce the wife of a Spartan king, resulting in the birth of Gemini, Helen of Troy, and Clytemnestra. Later Romans associated Cygnus with tragic story of Phaethon, the son of Helios the Sun God, who demanded to ride his father's sun chariot for a day. Unfortunately, he was unable to control the chariot and Zeus was forced to destroy him in the process. Phaethon's lover, Cygnus, grieved so bitterly that the gods turned him into a swan and placed him among the stars. In other cultures the swan is seen as a symbol of transformation, rebirth, and enlightenment.
Our Cygnus bar is a distinct design called the circling Taiwan swirl and requires a specialized cutting technique to reveal the design. A serene palette of soft yellow, white, and dove gray in a repeating pattern offers soothing vibes. Tropical botanicals and greenery crested by top notes of lime, agave, and honeydew offer a lush aromatic experience. Paradise awaits!
