In Greek mythology there was a Naiad nymph called Minthe, said to be the daughter of the River God, Cocytus, ruler of the River of Tears & Lamentation that runs through the Underworld. Minthe was said to be a lover of Hades before he took Persephone to be his bride. After Minthe boasted she was more beautiful and would regain Hades' love, a furious Persephone (or in some versions, Demeter) transformed her into the garden mint plant.
Catmint is a cousin of the cat-charming catnip, with a dose of the same chemical component, nepetalactone, that sends our feline friends into a delightful frenzy. But catmint offers its own unique charm to the garden with its long-lasting blue to purple hued buds, a heady minty aroma, and attractive mounding growth that makes it an amazing border plant that buzzes with pollinator activity all summer long.
Our Cat Minthe soap is a playful expression of this favorite garden ally. We've combined our adoration for this attractive garden plant with our popular cat-face design to create a unique soap that captures's summer days in the garden! A purple-hued cat face peeks out from amongst the raucous of a wild summer garden in full color display. The enchanting fragrance is an explosion of garden greats: sun-kissed florals, voluptuous tuberose and intoxicating ylang-ylang blend seamlessly with a playful array of vibrant citrus and juicy fruit notes, accented by fresh-crushed garden mint. Soft musk and rich woods complement and ground this radiant blend. Playful and perky! (Dare we say....kittenish?!) :)

Handmade soaps need to breathe! We recommend storing your soap on a slatted or free draining soap dish so that it can air dry in between uses.
- Remove botanical toppings prior to use.
- Don't allow your soap to sit in a puddle of water.
- Use a wash cloth, loofah or soap saver bag to extend the life of your soap bar.
- Use your soap bar within one year of purchase. I know they're pretty to look at, but they're intended to be used so enjoy them! :)
