The black widow spider carries a notorious reputation as one of the most venomous spiders on the planet. The female black widow is tiny, shiny and black, with bright red hourglass-shaped markings on their abdomens - that's the danger signal warning you to stay away! Black widows earned their name because scientists witnessed the females eat their mates after copulation. However, they actually rarely do this in the wild where the males have ample opportunity to escape. But the lore of the female eating the males is honestly the dark feminine aspect we love most about her.
Spiritually, the black widow symbolizes intense feminine power, fierce autonomy, raw inner strength, and unapologetic self-determination. Encountering one often signals a major life transition, urging you to shed toxic patterns and step into a renewed phase of growth. Our Black Widow bars weave a wispy web of black swirls through a green and white base with a white web crisscrossing the tops. We've scented Black Widow in an earthy blend of patchouli and sage grounded by a base note trio of resinous balsam, pine, and cedarwood. It's been a favorite of ours for a few years. It's the perfect year-round scent we keep coming back to!
